Operation Klondike Released

by Rob on Mar.10, 2010, under Game Development, Robs Musings

Just a heads up to all you battletech nuts out there, as mentioned in a earlier post Catalyst was working on Operation Klondike and as of 2 days ago it was released at least in PDF form at Battlecorps.

I can tell you that I give it 5 stars, while I find it sad that we do not get a large amount of information on Clan Wolverine (The book keeps to the fact that the Clans destroyed nearly all information regarding Wolverine and as such they will not overly speculate on them) it does give a very very indepth look at the operations that created the clans as we know it, from the Exodus through to the end of the operation.

There is also the hint that shows Wolverine is not gone and the Hint that shows Comstar/Word of Blake knows it.. look for it and see if you can find what I mean.. And then go read the Blake Documents.

Art wise it could have been a little better in some places but overall great book.

Massive Portfolio Update

by Rob on Mar.10, 2010, under Art Department, Personal News, Robs Musings, Site Related News

if you look at the 3D section of my portfolio you will see that there has been a massive update and a restructure of how I have been doing it. Rather then everything lumped on one page the projects I still have multipul images etc for have been moved to their own project pages along with Explanations behind each project.

As always though most of the time I post my work on Foundation 3D (http://www.foundation3d.com) as I’m working on it and as stated there some times here will have updates before F3D while at other times F3d will have updates before here.

At the moment I am working on this project:

Roof Leaks… Insulation and junk.

by Rob on Mar.10, 2010, under Personal News, Robs Musings

Don’t you have to hate houses.. I swear their like cars once you have one.. something is always going wrong.

Those Roof leaks I thought I’d gotten. nope.. hadn’t.. Did finally stop one.. but got 2 more in a diffrent spot :(

So The joy of Joys I get to try and fix that tomorrow.. While Waiting for Austar to turn up. And of course I still need to put the Insulation Batts in still think I should lodge a complaint about that.. fuckers where meant to do it themselves.. not just leave me the batts to do it.

Domestic Blitz, Great but how about leaving the City?

by Rob on Mar.07, 2010, under Robs Musings

I find it rather annoying that Domestic Blitz seem to ignore the rural regions of Australia.. especially places like the Mallee and the like.. Come on guys you ask for submissions I know of at least one person who is sick has been sick for 20+ years etc and is more then worthy of your damned show and yet you ignore them. Seems to me that you guys just stick to the city where you don’t have to worry about getting things .. nice when you can just call on bunnings or the like isn’t it.. how about accepting a real challenge and working on Rural places for only a season.

Historical: Operation Klondike on the Comming Soon!

by Rob on Mar.01, 2010, under Game Development, Robs Musings

For those Battletech Nuts out there like myself, you likely remember when Fanpro first put out the Historical’s they gave us this nice list.. it included the War of 3039, The brush wars and… Operation Klondike.. We got the first two which where great books but then of course Fanpro was always behind and well really sucky.. then Catalyst took over and we’ve not seen any more Historical’s though in the Chats and the like we have been told that we’d see them come out.. Herb and the like had said in them that they planned on getting back to them.

Well if you go to Classic Battletech’s website of Http://www.classicbattletech.com and take a look at the comming soon you will see that it lists Historical: Operation Klondike That’s right, it’s there and while Catalyst doesn’t typically give us dates on the release, you can at lease be certain that if they PUT something up it WILL be coming out.

So some of you who don’t know Battletech as well as well nerds and the like, like me… are likely going ‘Whats the big deal’ the big deal is that for the first time in Battletech history we actually get actual facts of the events that created the clans, Operation Klondike was the moment that the clans became a reality in many respects, when Alexander Kerensky took the Star League Defence Force from the Innersphere, things where good but by the time he had died.. the SLDF and it’s families etc where at each others throats with out Alexander and with out the whole thing of being in the IS they reverted back to well.. being Innersphere yuppies.. and war broke out as they vied for what they had.. Nicholas, Alexander’s son took a group and lead the second exodus and there he formed the clans and went back and to the pentagon worlds in what was Operation Klondike.. So we here get to see the battles fought by the 500 who held the original bloodnames.. we get to see ALL of the clans in action rather then those that survived to 3050 and we get to see the events that lead up to the ‘Unnamed Clan’ or Clan Wolverine’s split with the Clans..

I for one can’t wait to get my teeth into it.

More Work done.. more to go

by Rob on Feb.21, 2010, under Site Related News

Don’t you love how it seems to take forever to do well.. anything? lol.

Started putting sealant and the like along the shower.. getting sick of the leaks.. of course now i have to wait for what is down to dry so i can look at putting more in if needed.. at the same time mow and whipper snip the yard.. all cause well i’m feeling alright at the moment so you know have to get everything done that I can while I feel alright.. just like I should grab the expanda foam and fill out that section of the spare room like I keep saying I will.. but that takes effort as well.. once it cools off the roof has to be done.. and then look at getting some Besa Blocks.. and going along the side of the house and ripping up about 6 – 8 inch’s of 60 years worth of mulch and the like.. so the house can be jacked up.. alll sooo much fun.
