Programs used:

As you may imagine making these images is not a single program as such I’ve done a list of the programs that I have used and the ‘level’ of proficiency that I have with each.

3D applications

  • Lightwave 3D by Newtek – I have been using Lightwave now for over 10 years ever since version 6.5 and most of my actual 3D work is done within it. As such I count myself as being a decent modeller with it, and a alright texturer.
  • Modo by Luxology – Generally I use Modo as either a go-between for Lightwave to Maya or for texturing and rounding, this is primarly due to it’s edge tools being better then Lightwaves and also it’s UV tools
  • Maya by Alias Wavefront – Not so proficant, most of the work I’ve done in Maya is simply for Modding or game purposes.
  • Zbrush by Pixologic – I’ve had some experiance with Zbrush and can generally get it to do what I need it to do.

Image and Photo Manipulation or Creation

  • Painter by Corel – Most of the actual art pieces I have done have been dual pieces using Painter X and Photoshop.
  • Photoshop by Adobe – I have 9 years of experiance with Photoshop and my Diplomia covered it in large amounts. Every photo I take and every image I do goes through Photoshop at some stage for corrections or actual creation.
  • Illustrator by Adobe – I use Illustrator for all of my Vector based graphics design.
  • Campaign Cartographer 3 by Profantasy – While not exactly a graphics application but more a Mapping one any Maps that I produce tend to have had their origins in Campaign Cartographer 3.

Video and Compositing

  • Adobe Premier – I have been using Premier now for over 6 years and have found it to be very robust as a non-linear editing platform.
  • Nuke by the Foundry – I have moderate levels skills using Nuke, however I prefere to use Eyeon’s Fusion as I find Fusion easier to use all round.
  • Fusion by Eyeon – A robust compositing package many of my 3D art pieces see a trip into this program to produce the near final image and any compositing that is required.
  • Camtasia Studio – This is the program I use for any Tutorials that I make.

Programming

  • Visual Studio 2008 by Microsoft – I use Visual Studio by microsoft for most of my programing as the User Developer Interface.
  • Visual Basic.Net – I have several years experience making Visual Basic.Net or VB.Net based applications including databases and xml based applications.
  • C# and XNA – Like VB.Net i have spent several years working with C#.net however I admit I tend to forget some of the syntax at times, I also have experiance working with XNA the microsoft game development platform that uses C#.
  • C/C+ – I have a rudimentry understanding of C and C+
  • Lua, etc Scripting – I have extensive scripting knowledge due to many years of Modding as many of these programs use Scripting languages rather then Complied languages.
  • U.D.K – I am just starting to learn how to develop applications using the Unreal Development Kit.
